Canterbury Christ Church University project

In partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University’s School of Engineering, Technology and Design, EqualEngineers has launched an ambitious initiative to tackle the lack of diversity in the engineering field. This project specifically aims to boost the representation of female, ethnic minority, and students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds in engineering, addressing a critical regional skills gap as identified by Kent County Council and Southeast Local Enterprise Partnership.

Engineering Employability Learning Toolkit

Our focused effort revolves around the development and implementation of the EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) Engineering Employability Learning (EEL) Toolkit. This groundbreaking toolkit is designed for broad adoption across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and integrates seamlessly with the Future 360 Framework. Its primary goal is to enhance the social capital and employability of students, preparing them to effectively showcase their engineering competencies to potential employers.

The EEL Toolkit encourages students to leverage digital platforms such as LinkedIn, which is recognised for its significant benefits in the recruitment process. By equipping students with the necessary tools and knowledge, we aim to bridge the gap between educational achievements and professional success, ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, have equal opportunities to thrive in their careers.
