Engineering Confidence

From Technical Knowledge to Confident Communication

We are offering a two-hour workshop designed to support engineering students in developing essential communication and presentation skills. Engineering Confidence equips students with practical tools to overcome nerves, present technical work effectively, and engage confidently with peers, lecturers, and future employers. Led by Fayon Dixon, seasoned TV presenter, broadcaster, motivational speaker, and events host, the workshop brings a dynamic, professional edge to communication training.

Your Host

Fayon’s extensive experience working with live audiences and high-pressure broadcast environments enables her to teach students how to stay composed, clear, and impactful when communicating complex ideas. Her energetic, engaging style helps participants build confidence, develop a strong presence, and learn techniques used by professional presenters to connect with any audience.

In addition, Fayon’s expertise in interviewing and public-facing communication helps students learn how to speak confidently about themselves, an essential skill for job interviews, networking, and building meaningful professional relationships. Through practical exercises and personalised coaching, students learn how to articulate their strengths, communicate their value, and engage with others in a way that feels natural and authentic.
