The EqualEngineers Set for Success programme aims to build confidence and resilience in mid-career / experienced professionals from underrepresented groups.

Target group
Candidates will be in a mid-level career position and feel they would personally benefit from the content of the course. We especially welcome candidates underrepresented in engineering – female, ethnic minority, LGBT+ and disabled candidates.
Programme is also open to candidates who may wish to return who may have been out of the engineering industry for a period of time and wish to come back.
This programme can also be delivered in-house should there be sufficient numbers to merit this and make it viable to run.

- Session 4 - Role Model / Case Study webinar - early/mid-October
- Session 5 - Thursday 14th November - 08:30 to 17:00 - Set for Success Training Programme Pilot - Graduation, mentor feedback & site tour at an energy production facility.

Session 1 – Launch (1-day, classroom)

Session 2 - Communication, (1h via WebEx)
- Effective communication
- Resilience exercises
- Managing stress
- Presentation skills
- Personal impact & effectiveness
Session 3 – Leading with Difference (Full-day, classroom)
- Introduction to unconscious bias
- Exploring difference and one’s own identity
- Tools to support others who are different
- Paired-mentoring catch-up
- Introduction to mental health first aid awareness
- How to challenge stigma and lead with difference
Session 4 – Presenting with Impact & Influencing through difference, (1h, WebEx)
- Facilitated discussion with role model case studies, and examples of positive leaders making change in their field, the challenges they overcame and advice for participants
Session 5 - Close Workshop (Half-day, classroom or Full-day if site tour included)
- Mentor-pair feedback.
- Project presentations. Feedback from mentors.
- Networking / site-tour
- Graduation from the Set for Success programme, certificates handed out.
EqualEngineers will maintain an alumni-style group for maintaining contact between cohorts, and to build-up a community of professionals who can give back to future attendees.
Places: 20 per course (maximum)
Cost: £3,000 (ex. VAT) per participant. Discounts available for multi-employee registration.
