Senior Digital Engineer

We are working with a global leader formed over 40+ years ago and growing to a team of over 25,000 individuals that specialises in serving customers in a range of industries with highly complex products and demanding regulatory environments.  
 
The client has big plans in place and are currently looking for a Senior Digital Engineer/FPGA as they continue to grow their Hardware team across the business for a number of new projects in South East Scotland. 

Key Job Accountabilities: 

  • Design and develop electronic hardware for products across a wide range of industries.  
  • Collaborates with talented hardware, software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing and test engineers throughout all phases of the product development life cycle – from idea and conceptualize; through requirements, design, and development; to manufacturing transition and into the market. 
  • Derive technical performance specifications from high level use cases. 

Requirements: 

  • Possess a degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject 
  • Able to take ownership of architecting and designing electronic digital circuitry for industrial, healthcare/life sciences, and aerospace/defence market sectors 
  • Proficient with HDL languages (i.e., VHDL, SystemVerilog) to model hardware behaviour 
  • Proficient in synthesis, timing analysis/closure, and place and route using Vivado and/or Quartus 
  • Proficient in implementing fully self-checking test benches with directed and constrained random test cases. 
  • Proficient in optimizing FPGA pinouts and oversee PCB layouts of FPGA supporting circuitry. 
  • Collaborate with a team of other digital, analog, software, mechanical, and system engineers to review and improve hardware designs
