In this edition of our Re-Engineering Pride series for Black History Month, Poggy Murray Whitham and Ash Kala, Co-Chairs of the InterEngineering and REACH networks, explore the theme of Pride and Cultural Heritage in engineering. Through an open conversation, they discuss identity, belonging, and intersectionality, from navigating accents and cultural expectations to finding visibility and representation as Black engineers. The discussion highlights how our lived experiences shape who we are at work and why re-engineering pride means creating spaces where everyone can show up authentically and be proud of their heritage.
