Re-Engineering Pride: Trans Day of Visibility 2026

Join InterEngineering, Building Equality, and oSTEM for our next Re-engineering Pride event in honour of Trans Day of Visibility. A gathering bringing together trans people, allies, and supporters from across our sector.

Trans Day of Visibility is about recognising and celebrating trans lives, whilst also acknowledging the challenges that the community continues and increasingly faces in workplaces and society. For those working in engineering and technical sectors, visibility can sometimes feel complicated. This event aims to create a welcoming space where people can connect, share experiences, and support one another.

Hosted in central Birmingham, less than 5 minutes from the major train stations, and accessible both in-person and online, the evening will bring together members of the trans community and the wider LGBTQIA+ network to talk openly about identity, visibility, and belonging within engineering.

The event will include:

• Short talks and personal stories about journeys, experiences, and perspectives on visibility in the sector
• Open discussion and shared conversation
• Space for allies to listen, learn, and show support for trans colleagues and the wider community
• Informal networking, giving attendees the chance to meet others across the LGBTQIA+ engineering community ahead of Birmingham Pride in May

Whether you are trans, non-binary, questioning, an ally, or simply interested in supporting a more inclusive engineering profession, you are warmly welcome.

Note that in order to maintain a safe and inclusive space, the location of the event will only be shared with those who have signed up to the event, and the online registration and call with be monitored closely.

A £1 deposit is required to secure your place, which will be refunded on the day.
