Engineering Talent Awards 2023

EqualEngineers proudly presented the 2023 Engineering Talent Awards, which honored individuals with a consistent track record of overcoming barriers to success in the engineering industry and recognized organizations dedicated to promoting diversity in the workplace.

Led by EqualEngineers Founder and Director Dr. Mark McBride-Wright MBE CEng, the 2023 ETA ceremony took place in collaboration with national newspaper The Metro and the Royal Academy of Engineering. Metro Editor Richard Hartley-Parkinson delivered a keynote address at the event.

Among the winners was Anthony Buckley, Lead Engineer at Rolls-Royce SMR, who received the prestigious Engineer of the Year award for his exemplary leadership. Aimee Jones of Mott Macdonald was named Engineering Apprentice of the Year for her efforts in inspiring young individuals to pursue engineering.

Amitoj Singh, from Ethical Power Connections Limited, was recognized as Executive Leader of the Year, while Samiksha Raviraja, a student at the University of Leicester studying Aerospace Engineering, was honored as Student of the Year. Her outstanding achievements and dedication to being a role model led her to also receive the coveted Overall Excellence in Engineering Award.

Corporate leaders such as Wessex Water and Jacobs ACE Network achieved notable recognition, and University College London was awarded Inclusion Programme of the Year for their partnership with BADU Sport on the ‘Bridging the Gap’ campaign, which provides free bespoke tuition to over 90 students.

Dr. McBride-Wright, who received the prestigious Rooke Award from the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2022, stated:

We celebrated the most inspiring and hard-working role models in the engineering and technology sectors across the UK.

The Engineering Talent Awards exist to shine a light on success and ingenuity, so I’m really pleased we were able to do that. This is one of the major events in the UK that also gives a huge platform to our country’s engineering businesses as well as the organisations nurturing the next generation.
