Welcome to the EqualEngineers Disability Network – a pioneering platform committed to advancing inclusion and support for individuals with disabilities within the engineering sector. Our mission is to cultivate a nurturing environment that welcomes people with disabilities, alongside their neurotypical and able-bodied peers. We aim to bridge the gap between lived experiences and professional environments, ensuring that every engineer, regardless of their physical or mental abilities, feels valued and integrated. Our network extends to those with both visible and invisible disabilities, whether diagnosed or identified through lived experience, as well as their allies and family members. Join us in creating a more accessible, understanding, and inclusive engineering community.

A time to bond, learn, and rejoice together.

Why you should join our Network

Our goals are multifaceted, focusing on enhancing the visibility and acceptance of disability within both the workplace and society at large. Our initiatives include:

  • Highlighting the unique contributions and perspectives that engineers with disabilities bring to the workplace and broader society;
  • Promoting awareness and acceptance of diversity in abilities within the engineering field;
  • Working to dismantle the stigma and alleviate the sense of isolation felt by individuals with disabilities in professional settings and society;
  • Addressing and seeking solutions for the daily challenges faced by engineers with disabilities in their work environments;
  • Providing education for employers and professional organizations on the critical importance of embracing disability diversity;
  • And showcasing inspiring examples of successful engineers with disabilities as role models for the community.

Through these efforts, the EqualEngineers Disability Network aspires to foster a more inclusive, understanding, and supportive engineering sector for individuals with disabilities.
