Morgan Sindall is a UK construction and infrastructure business with a network of local offices. The company works for private and public sector customers on projects and frameworks from £50,000 to over £1 billion. Activities range from small works and repair and maintenance, to the design and delivery of complex construction and engineering projects where it is able to provide specialist design, tunnelling, utilities, building, civil engineering and mechanical and electrical services. The company operates across the commercial, defence, education, energy, healthcare, industrial, leisure, retail, transport and water markets. Morgan Sindall is part of Morgan Sindall Group plc, a leading UK construction and regeneration group with revenue of c£2.8 billion and which operates through six divisions of Construction & Infrastructure, Fit Out, Property Services, Partnership Housing, Urban Regeneration and Investments.

Within Rail & Electrification, our expertise is focused not only on effective project delivery but also on minimising railway user and environmental disruption through innovative working practices.  These include ‘live launch’ bridge construction - where bridges are installed while railways beneath remain operational and ‘offline’ construction and modularisation techniques within stations.

How do you create an inclusive workforce?

Morgan Sindall’s Diversity Statement has been personally signed by Simon Smith and Pat Boyle, managing directors of construction and infrastructure

We have a Diversity and Inclusion strategy and Implementation plan in place.

Governance of diversity and inclusion activity is through our People and Construction and Infrastructure boards

All our senior managers have undergone unconscious bias training and are about to embark on a programme of inclusive leadership assessment and coaching. This will ensure that we have the right behaviours in place to support our commitment to be an inclusive organisation.

We have a number of family friendly policies in place to support our staff who may have caring or other family commitment enabling them to remain in the workplace. To create a wider potential talent group and promote understanding and dialogue, we have implemented a series of national partnership agreements with external bodies representing diverse and underrepresented groups. We have recently partnered with Workingmums.net to encourage women back into the workplace this has seen an increase in applications from working mums.

We are currently holders of Investors in People and Disability Confident charter marks, we have also achieved bronze status in our Mind accreditations, and bronze award in our enei e-quality charter mark.
