Supergen ORE - Consulting Project

Supergen ORE (Offshore Renewable Energy), a consortium spanning eight prestigious universities, embarked on a mission to enhance and foster an inclusive culture across its expansive network. Recognising the pivotal role inclusivity plays in research and development environments, Supergen ORE committed to continuous improvement in diversity and inclusion efforts.

Project Overview

To achieve these objectives, we facilitated one-to-one interviews with all eleven co-directors of the consortium. These interviews served as structured discussions, focusing on understanding the current cultural dynamics within Supergen ORE and exploring how they could be enhanced to support a more inclusive atmosphere. This process was not only about gathering insights but also about providing a safe space for co-directors to express their personal experiences, challenges, and suggestions regarding inclusivity within their spheres of influence.

The feedback collected from these interviews was analysed and synthesised by our team. This analysis helped us to craft a set of tailored recommendations for Supergen ORE. The proposed actions included the introduction of new training programmes specifically designed to address gaps in knowledge and practice concerning diversity, the implementation of enhanced support systems for underrepresented groups, and the launch of new initiatives aimed at promoting a broader understanding and implementation of diversity and inclusion principles across the network.

These efforts are a testament to Supergen ORE’s dedication to building a research environment where diversity is not only accepted but actively embraced.
