Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme

In our engagement with the Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP), EqualEngineers proudly took on the pivotal role of supporting the recruitment process of students. Our approach was multifaceted, tapping into a variety of channels to ensure a diverse and talented pool of candidates. The recruitment strategy was designed to reach a broad spectrum of engineering students and recent graduates, leveraging our extensive network and expertise in the field.

Recruitment Strategy

Universities: Our collaboration with UK universities, led by Dr Stewart Eyres, was crucial in reaching a broad pool of engineering students. We reached over 11,000 students across institutions like Plymouth University and De Montfort University. Targeting universities in areas with skills gaps, we utilised research data and Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) datasets to recruit students who met RAE’s eligibility criteria. Online Presence and Social Media: We leveraged social media and digital marketing to engage engineering students. Working with RAE, we maintained a consistent social media presence and directly communicated with over 3,000 students on our mailing list, meeting RAE eligibility criteria. Events: Our recruitment strategy capitalised on our successful career fairs and the Engineering Talent Awards. Hosting events since 2017, we connected over 10,000 students with industry opportunities. Student Ambassadors: The student ambassador programme was key in on-campus promotion of GEEP. With over 20 ambassadors, we equipped them with resources to effectively reach fellow students and relevant societies. Professional Engineering Institutions (PEIs): Collaboration with PEIs like IMechE and IET extended our recruitment network. These institutions’ student and young professional networks provided additional outreach avenues, allowing us to geographically target our recruitment efforts and promote GEEP to a wider audience.
