EqualEngineers is honoured to have collaborated with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on a pivotal project to refine and advance their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices, in line with their ambitious EDI Strategy 2025. Our engagement involved a thorough evaluation of IMechE’s current inclusion practices, aimed at bolstering their role both as an influential membership body and as an employer.
Our methodology was comprehensive, incorporating focus groups and one-to-one interviews with a diverse range of stakeholders. These interactions provided invaluable insights into the existing environment and pinpointed critical areas for development, helping to establish a robust starting point for the DEI strategy implementation. The scope of our work extended across various facets of the organisation, encompassing both internal staff groups and external membership engagements.
To ensure effective monitoring and continuity, we developed key performance indicators (KPIs) that are tailored to track progress against the set goals. These metrics are designed to measure long-term performance and the overall impact of the DEI initiatives, ensuring that the strategy remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of all stakeholders.
This development of the DEI strategy was integral in ensuring that voices at all levels were heard, contributing significantly to shaping the direction of the organisation’s culture and community for the foreseeable future.
